Some great results by the team at Port Macquarie for Ironman.
Andrew Mildren performed strong all day to finish his first Ironman in 11:05
Jason Freney ran a pb after struggling with stomach problems on the bike to post a 12:22
Kim Cook notched up his first Ironman to post a 12:45
Tim Fryirs finshed with a 22minute pb in 12:49 and took 13mins off his swim pb for a 63min paddle in the process.
Brett Isaac was in a great position after a 49min swim and solid 90ks on the bike before disaster struck with a snapped rear deraileur.

Two athletes tht have been swimming with the squad and focusing on getting out of the water early had great results
Brett Stewart 10:18 won the 55-59 age group by 48mins and swam a 13min pb coming out of the water in 60mins
Matt Porta 9:39 and 10th in 30-34 swam a 6min pb to come out in 55.30

Huskisson Long Course Triathlon

kim cookAM huskyBrett Isaac, Andrew Mildren and Kim Cook had a hit out at HUskisson to test their preperaton for Ironman and all came up trumps with great results.

Brett, finished with a very strong 4hrs 25 min in his second long distance race
Andrew Mildren took 15mins off his last years time posting a 4.hrs 39min
Kim Cook put together a cracker of a race with a 5hrs 5min

Canberra Half Ironman

mildren run 2-smallAndrew Mildren travelled down to Canberra for his third Half Ironman of the season. As the scene of his first ever half last year he went down to measure his improvement.  Andrew had a very solid day to take 65minutes off last years time posting a 5hr 16min, Great effort Andrew. Busselton WA Ironman 5th Dec

tim run smallCongrats to Tim Fryirs (aka Skinny Wiggle) who had a tough day in Busso. In extremely challenging conditions where the dnf list was long. Tim stuck in there and gutsed it out, overcame two flats an got belted by the winds on the bike and suffered in the heat on the run to finish in 14hrs 57mins. Great effort on a tough day and a very limited preperation.

Port Half Ironman

port preracesmallAll 4 Eclipse athletes racing had great days at at Port last weekend with,

Brett Isaac  posting a 4:47 for his first Half Ironman, coming out of the water close to the pro’s, and putting a solid race together, showing great potential for the future.

Andrew Mildren 4:52 went 5mins faster from his Gold Coast half pb and finished 8th in the 40-44’s

Tim Fryirs 5:22 took over 50mins off last years port half time and is looking strong in his prep for Ironman WA in 6 weeks

Jason Freney posted another pb with a 5:35

World Long Distance Triathlon Champs

Steve “Maddog” McKellar raced  at the World Long Distance Champs IN Perth. Steve had a strong race to finish in 5hrs 03mins finishing 29th in the 40-44’s. Steve blitzed the 3km swim in 56mins which was straight into a strong headwind and kept it together well in very tough windy and hot conditions.

Gold Coast Half Ironman

Steve “Maddog McKellar” and Andrew Mildren both raced in the Gold Coast Half Ironman today.

Both had great races with Steve coming in with a very solid 4hrs 48mins and 15th in the 40-44yr age group.

Andrew had a blinder finishing in 4hrs 57mins  for 24th in the 4-44yrs age group in the process taking over 1hr 20mins off his half Ironman pb from Canberra last year.

Cangratulations to both of you, definately on track for a big race season.

Sydney Half Marathon

Brett Isaac and Andrew Mildren raced in the Blackmores Sydney Half Marathon today

Brett Ran an 82min 35sec finishing 65th overall and 17th in the 30-34yrs age group. This was a 40min improvement on last years time for Brett and a 4min pb for a half Marra. On top of this he ran the first 10k in a 10km pb as well. All on a big training week including 100km on the bike yesterday. Well done Brett you are on fire.

Andrew Ran 82min 23sec finishing 61st overall and 7th in his age group. For a great result in the middle of a heavy program.

Interestingly these two guys have been doing a bit of training together. Did the race completely seperately but there was only 12sec difference in their times at the end of the race.

Central Coast Club Duathlon

Eclipse members dominated the Central Coast club Duathlon on the weekend.

Lake Macquarie Half Marathon

Jason Freney and Andrew Collins raced in the Lake Macquarie Half Marathon on Sunday.Both having great races in gail force wins to post pbs

Jason ran 95mins taking over 5 minutes off his pb

Andrew smashed his pb by 7 1/2 minutes to go 111 minutes
